Alternatively, use the Inspector panel to link height and width by clicking the Keep Ratio icon so that resizing is automatically proportional. Proportional resizing keeps the same aspect ratio, so there is no distortion when resizing.
To resize proportionally, hold dwon / SHIFT while dragging a selection handle. You can resize vertically and horizontally, which can cause distortion. Drag a corner handle of the selection box to resize the selected object. You must select an object with the Pointer tool before you can scale or resize it. Clicking Modify > Transform offers even more preset rotation options (45°, 90°, 180° in both directions). You can use toolbar buttons to quickly rotate objects at 90° left or right (clockwise or counterclockwise).
